Installation Error​

During installation, you may encounter an error like the one shown below:

"A required component is missing to run this program."

This error typically occurs when the required Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable package is not installed on your system or is corrupted.

How to Resolve​

To resolve this issue, install the appropriate Visual C++ Redistributable package.

  1. Check your system architecture

    Identify whether your operating system is 32-bit or 64-bit.

    • For Windows 10/11
      1. Go to Settings > System > About
      2. Look under the "System Type" section to find your architecture.

  2. Download and Install Visual C++ Redistributable

    Visit Microsoft’s official site to download the latest version of the Visual C++ Redistributable package. Make sure to download the version that matches your system architecture.

  3. Verify Installation

    After installation, go to Control Panel > Programs and Features and check that Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022 Redistributable is listed.

  • If the issue persists after installation, try rebooting your system and reinstalling MonitorDog.
  • If an older version of the Redistributable package is already installed and may be corrupted, uninstall it first before reinstalling.
