πŸ’‘ Enhanced security for MonitorDog.

MonitorDog can now detect screen capture attempts made via keyboard shortcuts or capture software, and records these events for centralized management.

πŸ“ Key Update Highlights

✨ At a Glance

β€’ Detection and logging of capture attempts via keyboard shortcuts
β€’ Blocking of capture attempts via capture software, with event logging
β€’ Support for organization-level and user-level policy configuration
β€’ Administrators can register and manage capture programs directly

πŸ”„ What Has Changed?

πŸ“‚ 1. Screen Capture Control

When the MonitorDog Agent detects a screen capture attempt, it performs the following actions:

  • Records and stores the event
  • Blocks the screen capture
  • Automatically terminates the capture program (when applicable)
  • Saves a screenshot of the attempted capture and the user’s webcam image

β†’ This allows administrators to clearly identify who attempted a capture, when, and how.

Screen capture attempts are detected in two categories:

  • Keyboard-shortcut capture (hotkeys)
  • Capture software execution and capture attempts

βš™οΈ 2. Organization-Level and User-Level Policy Settings

You can apply capture control policies across the entire organization, while also configuring exceptions for specific users who may legitimately require screen capture functionality.

Customizable Policy Settings

User-level policies take priority over organization-wide policies. However, if the organization updates a policy using the β€œApply to all users” option, the organization-level settings will override individual user settings.

⚠️ Important Notice

This feature is available in MonitorDog Agent version 1.0.17 or later.

πŸš€ MonitorDog Introduces New 'Privacy Protection & Audit Features'

πŸ’‘ MonitorDog, which prioritizes user privacy protection above all else, presents an evolved security feature.

πŸ“’ Major Update
We're excited to announce the official addition of Privacy Protection & Audit Features.

πŸ”„ What's Changed?

πŸ” From "Allow First, Manage Later" to "Block First, Request Later"

⚠️ Previous Approach

When administrators checked user activity events, images were visible by default

  • Quick problem identification
  • ⚠️ Risk of unintended exposure of sensitive information

βœ… New Approach

All event images are now private by default

  • πŸ”’ Default privacy protection
  • πŸ“‹ Transparent audit process
  • πŸ“§ Automatic notification system

alt text

πŸ” How Can Images Be Accessed Now?

πŸ›‘οΈ Transparent and Secure 'Security Audit' Process

Now, when administrators need to view event images for specific users, they must request a security audit.

⏰ Request-Based Access

Administrators can set audit duration from minimum 1 hour to maximum 24 hours to request image access permissions.

πŸ“§ Transparent Notifications

As soon as the audit begins, an automated email with "Security audit is currently in progress" is sent to the audited user.

πŸ“ Complete Records

Who, when, and why requested an audit, and all events reviewed during the audit are permanently managed in the system.

🎯 Expected Benefits of 'Privacy Protection & Audit Features'

πŸ’‘ This new feature goes beyond simply hiding images - it's a significant update that elevates the trust and security level of the entire service.

1️⃣ Enhanced User Trust

Users will develop strong trust in the service knowing that their sensitive information is protected by default and that they'll be immediately notified if someone attempts to access it. This provides psychological security that "my information is safe," allowing users to use MonitorDog with greater peace of mind.

2️⃣ Transparent Internal Controls & Clear Accountability

Since all audit requests and access records are logged, all administrator activities are managed transparently. This serves as a powerful internal control mechanism that prevents unnecessary information access and enables quick identification of accountability through clear audit records if issues arise.

3️⃣ Data Regulation Compliance & Proactive Response

We've established a foundation for proactive compliance with increasingly strict data regulations worldwide, including the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This reduces compliance risks for our clients and technically demonstrates that MonitorDog is a secure service.

πŸ›‘οΈ MonitorDog's Promise

MonitorDog will continue to work tirelessly to securely protect your valuable information and provide the most trustworthy service possible.

Thank you.
